What is Coaching?
About Coaching
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential".
Coaching is:

Client-led: you are the source of wisdom in your own life

Utilizing inner resources to get to your desired future (point A to point B)

Identifying and removing blocks that are getting in your way

Action-oriented and accountability-based
Coaching isn't:

Coach-led, e.g.,

Consulting: "this is how you should do it"

Mentorship/Role Model: "this is how I did it"

Therapy: identifying and understanding past pain and emotions and employing mechanisms to improve one's mental health

Friendship: as your coach, I may sometimes challenge your thought and behavior patterns to enable new ways of approaching a situation
